Aeron chair - 3/4 view

Aeron chair: The details

The Aeron's knee tilter mechanism allows a more natural movement of the body when the chair is in the reclined postion. This compares favorably to the traditional seat-post tilt mechanism found on most reclining office and task chairs, which tend to progressively push the body further and further out of alignment as one leans back.

Another notable detail is the waterfall edge at the front of the seat pan. The gently dropping curve reduces the possibility of pressure being applied to the back of the thigh and the resultant decreased blood flow, pinched nerves and tingling legs.

The most frequently used controls -- the tilter, tilt lock, and height adjustment -- are within easy reach, and can be operated by touch.

The chair's designers apparently recognize that one size does not fit all. The Aeron comes in three different sizes -- A, B, and C -- for people who range from the short and light, all the way to the tall and heavy.

And for the fashion-conscious, the Pellicle fabric comes in a variety of colors.

However, the Aeron is not flawless.
